The HeArt of Now-Here

On the other side of the planet, on the coast of La Manche where I met Stéphanie and Antoine in 2020, a solidary and humanous idea gave birth to a magnificent surge of humanity. The observation of this group of friends from the north of France was that approximately 80 million disabled people in the world were not fitted with aids due to lack of access to care and equipment. They then created this association to provide support to these people, by collecting, recycling and redistributing prosthetic equipment that is no longer used in Europe to amputees in Africa. Material redistributed free of charge and transported by sail and therefore in the most ecological way possible.

This story is that of people like you and me who wanted to provide where it was lacking, human beings who simply made their hearts work.

For several months I had the honor of sharing this beautiful story with the people I met along a walk of more than 2000km between England and Italy on the Via Francigena, and thanks to them, I saw the love shone in the eyes of my interlocutors, sometimes in the form of tears, but always with this feeling of non-separation in the people touched by their initiatives.

This group of friends broke down boundaries and built invisible bridges between humans, with an idea and a lot of energy.

De l’autre côté du globe, sur les côtes de la Manche où j’ai rencontré Stéphanie et Antoine en 2020, une idée solidaire et humaine a fait naître un élan d’humanité magnifique. Le constat de cette bande de pote du nord de la France était qu’à peu prêt 80 millions de personnes handicapées dans le monde n’étaient pas appareillées faute d’accès aux soins et au matériel. Ils ont alors créé cette association pour apporter leur soutien à ces personnes, en récoltant, en recyclant et en redistribuant aux personnes amputées d’Afrique du matériel prothétique qui n’est plus utilisé en Europe. Matériel redistribué gratuitement et acheminé à la voile et donc de la manière la plus écologique qui soit.

Cette histoire, c’est celle de personnes comme vous et moi qui ont eu envie d’apporter là où il manquait, des êtres humains qui ont fait marcher leurs cœurs, tout simplement.

J’ai eu l’honneur pendant plusieurs mois de partager cette belle histoire aux personnes que j’ai croisé le long d’une marche de plus de 2000km entre l’Angleterre et l’Italie sur la Via Francigena, et grâce à eux, j’ai vu l’amour brillé dans les yeux de mes interlocuteurs, parfois sous forme de larmes, mais toujours avec ce sentiment de non-séparation chez les personnes touchées par leur initiative.

Cette bande de pote a abattu des frontières et fabriqué des ponts invisibles entre les hommes, avec une idée et beaucoup d’énergie.
